Acts of Kindness

As we get further into the holiday season and the pressure may start to build, for yourself and others, make acts of kindness a daily habit. Include each of your staff in your actions and encourage them to pass on these acts, too.
It’s easy to lose sight of the spirit of the holiday, which should focus on lifting spirits and putting smiles on faces, not who gets the best gift or how much debt you are going into. Acts of kindness are free and priceless. And we can all use feel good moments!
If you see someone struggling with an activity, step in and help, even if you don’t think you have time. If an employee has a task that they don’t enjoy, step in and do it for them. If you see the beginnings of an argument, stop and ask them about their favorite holiday memory or food or something completely off task that they can potentially bond over. Then redirect the disagreement by letting each state their concern and come to a decision so everyone can move forward, focusing on the task at hand as opposed to the differing views.
Acts of kindness are easy when you think about it. They can also leave lasting impressions by lifting moods and reminding our staff that managers are people too and do care.
Time flies, but it’s the little things we remember. Enhancing the culture of your organization by expecting and practicing kindness will elevate your staff and your business.
Practice acts of kindness daily throughout the year.

Acts of kindness should be simple and caring.
